Doctors’ health advisory services in each state and territory are manned by doctors who volunteer their time as a help and resource.

This website is designed to bring together doctors and medical students who share an interest in the health and wellbeing of their colleagues. You'll also find contact details for doctors' health services which operate 24/7 around Australia.

ADHN was established as an independent network of doctors' health services across Australia and New Zealand in the early 1990s. This site provides news and resources for promoting doctors' health, for helping your colleagues and for your own self-care, which is an essential prerequisite for competent medical practice.

What do your local doctors' health services do? In December 2022 the services collaborated to share with you simulated calls that the 24/7 phone services have actually taken over the years (your local doctors' health services phone number is listed to the left menu of this home page).  These services take over 900 calls a year from doctors and medical students - this video is a powerful description of what our local services do:

Do you recognise your rights as a healthy doctor, for example? Check out the Doctors' Health Charter under the "Your Health" tab above. You are warmly invited to contact us if you would like more information, and especially if you would like to be more involved!

In 2023, we look forward to working with local doctors' health services and stakeholders as their peak national body. We are excited to be launching soon a refreshing update of our brand to reflect our members, advocacy and education work in doctors' health.
